Introduction

Tamil Nadu Animal Welfare Board has been established vide G.O.(MS) No.208, Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (AH-3) Department dated 24.10.2018 and registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1975.

The Board functions under the Chairmanship of the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the Hon’ble Minister for Animal Husbandry is the Vice Chairman of the Board.

The Board functions with the main mandate of advising the State Government on strict implementation of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
